Mr. Chuck Dering
Encoder Division
Litton Systems Inc.
20745 Nordhoff Street
Chatsworth, Ca. 91311
Dear Mr. Dering:
\J
Enclosed are our two Model 73 encoder assemblies and the
mounts for them. As I mentioned during our phone conversation, the
hubs of the disks are too large to allow the housing unit to be
slipped into place. In addition, the cable routing is too close to
the rotor. It will surely touch when in operation.
The box labelled SCRATCH was the original box the disks were
shipped in. I hope those words are irrelevant. In addition, I
notice a small chip near the edge of one of the disks, I hope this is
also O.K.
You may adjust the shims on the rotor without the gear.
Unfortunately, the one with the gear in place was that way when I
talked with you. Should you need to remove the gear, press it off,
and we will replace it when you return the complete assembly. I might
add that we have changed our design so that in the future we will
be able to use one of your housed encoders. \.
